Life is a journey..

May 15, 2008

While doing my nightly stroll along blogs I stumbled upon the below post that I have now borrowed from  blairs boys  and it is so true! Lately I’ve been feeling like arse and the main reason is because I dont like work. I like my job yes but I dont like the enviroment. The result is me getting miagraines and missing out on  family things So after having a “miagraine” on sunday I got to catch up with my family and I feel better about things.    Anyway go read and tell me what you think!!

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit - and you’re keeping all of them in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

How?

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us together.

Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you are going.

Don’t forget that a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Don’t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.

Life is a journey to be savoured each step of the way. Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, and Today is a gift. That’s why we call it The Present.

Proper Grown-Up

May 15, 2008

Last night the flatmate, two work friends and myself went out for dinner like proper grown ups!

Firstly I was texting one of  my co workers asking if we should make reservations. She laughed and said no. Later on I rung up  to make a reservation and  I was told  that they were fully booked. Good thing I didnt listen to my friend isnt it.  So instead of going to the Aqaba like we all wanted to  (have you seen their menu? its like sex!!)  we went to the steakout.

The steakout was good  nice and quiet mainly full of old men and some weird guy by himself that my friends were trying to get me to go sit with (I didnt, I have standards thank you) .

So I had the smallest steak and chips, couldnt fit in a salad buuuuuuuuut I did have a chocolate ice cream sundae. My teeth were so sore after  after the meal I had to take some drugs before I could sleep.  I’m not going to the dentist. I’m not.

As a side note yesterday I rung up a dentist place to apply for a job however I gave them their number instead of my own. Luckily I hadnt gotten to my name yet so I just hung up. Professional? no.  But I dont think I would have suited working in a dental place anyway Dentists freak me out.

So we all talked and laughed. We had booze… We all had jack daniels then I had a jellybean cocktail have you guys had one?  You must!! Mum used to have them years ago and  I used to have sips. Just as good as I Remembered!!!   We bitched about  work and the boss and one of the girls that is just gross..

So  basically I got to act like a proper grown up. I like that. Although our conversation wasnt exactly grown up but like we’re not like that hehehehehehe..

Must go do…stuff…

Love n hugs
